Currently, certain critical steps of cataract surgery are performed manually. With the femtosecond laser, our surgeons are able to improve precision and reproducibility during these steps of the procedure. To create the incisions for cataract surgery, the femtosecond laser employs a beam of laser light.

What the laser does is address some astigmatism, make a precise circular incision in the front of the cataract which helps greatly in centering the IOL, and soften the nucleus of the cataract so that less ultrasound energy is needed to remove the cataract. In order to give the most accurate results to each patient, an advanced computer-guidance system directs the laser over the eye. This cutting edge technology, combined with the excellence of our surgeons, produces incredible results that leave our patients happy, healthy, and clear-sighted.
