Are you one of the more than 49 million Americans who struggle with dry eye? If so, you’re likely all too familiar with the blurry vision, stinging discomfort, and excessive tearing or dryness that come with this condition.

Fortunately, there’s a better way to manage your chronic dry eye disease. We’re proud to be among the first in the area to offer OptiLight—the brightest innovation in dry eye treatment!

How OptiLight works

OptiLight is a gentle, noninvasive treatment that uses intense, broad-spectrum light with patented Optimal Pulse Technology™. Rather than masking symptoms, OptiLight addresses meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD), the leading cause of dry eye cases.

OptiLight’s multifaceted approach targets inflammation and restores meibomian gland function. The result? Patients enjoy improved comfort, enhanced quality of life, and a reduced reliance on eye drops. In essence, they experience a reduction in symptoms 85%-90% of the time.

What is treatment like?

The entire process is quick and comfortable. Before your session begins, our team will place protective shields over your eyes and apply cooling gel. Next, Dr. Calderone or Dr. Yang will deliver precise pulses of light to the eyelids near the lash lines using OptiLight’s patented and FDA-approved handpiece. These pain-free treatment sessions take just 10-15 minutesin our office.

You may experience some mild redness immediately after treatment, but no downtime is required. Treatments typically consist of 4 sessions—though some patients may enjoy noticeable results after only 2-3 sessions.
