We are so excited to welcome the brilliant Dr. Danica Yang O.D. to our Better Vision New Jersey team! Read on to learn more about Dr. Yang, her professional interests, and why she looks forward to serving you.
Dr. Yang received her Bachelor’s in Neuroscience from Barnard College, Columbia University in New York City. She went on to earn her Doctorate of Optometry and Master in Vision Science from SUNY College of Optometry. After finishing her doctorate degree, Dr. Yang completed a Cornea and Contact Lens Residency at SUNY College of Optometry where she gained extensive training in the fitting of specialty contact lenses.
She specializes in using contact lenses to allow patients with keratoconus, irregular corneas, and ocular surface disease to see clearly and comfortably. She also has a strong interest in slowing the progression of nearsightedness in children using eye drops, contact lenses, or glasses.
In addition, Dr. Yang is passionate about continuing education. She has lectured on topics such as keratoconus, Stargardt disease, scleral lens fitting, and more. Her professional memberships include the American Academy of Optometry and the New York State Optometric Association.
Using her specialized skills, Dr. Yang enjoys giving back. She has gone on medical mission trips to Panama, Mexico, and rural Australia to provide eye care to those with limited access.
